I think I hear every head coach and coordinators throughout state rushing to their computers to update resumes... lol what’s the over under on applicants 500?

I think you are off base here. Most coaches know they don't have the credentials to even get a sniff for either one of these two jobs.

Sad and pathetic situation at Desoto

Coach wins the State Championship, then in no time he is out of a job...

The "story" is that he was "caught using chewing tobacco on the side lines", and he "exceeded" the 8 hour / week practice limit.  Oh the horror!

Any blind man can see whats happening in Desoto. Rotten to the core.

I understand Mathis wanting to go back, but it's not cool how it will play out for Marshall. He talked about building a program and calling Marshall "home". LIke I said, I don't blame him just hate it for the city of Marshall.

It has become the nature of the profession. Applicants will say whatever it takes to get a job and then they after getting the job they will say what the Administration and the Community wants to hear so they can have their support. All along they are looking forward to the next, bigger, better job.

I'm not saying that Mathis didn't intend on making Marshall "home" or have plans to build something great there, or that he didn't give the job and kids his total focus during the season. I think he is a good man and he was being honest when he said those things and had big plans for Marshall.

But, DeSoto was his "dream" job and he probably should have never left.

They tried to fire him last year. He is just too white.

Correct.

Oh, if only MLK's dream could come true:

I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. (and State Football Championships) Martin Luther King, Jr.

Too many racists in DeSoto to make MLK's dream come true there. How sad.

Or administrations/school boards are quick to have coaches removed - it works both ways. Me first society - what can you for me or what have you done for me lately?

This is a bit of an ignorant take. The issue isn’t about color, it’s Mathis. Those in power love him there and are moving heaven and earth to bring him back. It just so happens that the coaches on either side are different colors.

Let a black coach win state at Orangefield, BC, or Lumberton, etc, then try to get rid of him the very next year. It would be on CNN 24/7 and thousands would be marching in the streets.

You see that others share my sentiments.

Reverse racism you say.  I'm not a racist at all so , just looks like you're trying to pull a scenario out of thin air just to be relevant in the conversation and try to justify an ignorant post by that other guy...

And neither am I, but I’ve read many of your post and your responses and I’ll keep my opinion to myself.
