WOSgrad Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 Mark Schmid at The Woodlands and Todd Peterman at DeSoto have both resigned today. Quote
Brubaker Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 This could cause some major dominoes to start falling as these two giants get filled. Quote
Blockdownandkickout! Posted January 19, 2018 Report Posted January 19, 2018 I think I hear every head coach and coordinators throughout state rushing to their computers to update resumes... lol what’s the over under on applicants 500? Quote
aki1994 Posted January 19, 2018 Report Posted January 19, 2018 Sad and pathetic situation at Desoto Quote

I think you are off base here. Most coaches know they don't have the credentials to even get a sniff for either one of these two jobs. 2wedge 1 Quote

The "story" is that he was "caught using chewing tobacco on the side lines", and he "exceeded" the 8 hour / week practice limit. Oh the horror! Any blind man can see whats happening in Desoto. 2wedge Posted January 19, 2018 Report Posted January 19, 2018 I understand Mathis wanting to go back, but it's not cool how it will play out for Marshall. He talked about building a program and calling Marshall "home". LIke I said, I don't blame him just hate it for the city of Marshall. PlayActionPass 1 Quote

Applicants will say whatever it takes to get a job and then they after getting the job they will say what the Administration and the Community wants to hear so they can have their support. All along they are looking forward to the next, bigger, better job. I'm not saying that Mathis didn't intend on making Marshall "home" or have plans to build something great there, or that he didn't give the job and kids his total focus during the season. I think he is a good man and he was being honest when he said those things and had big plans for Marshall. But, DeSoto was his "dream" job and he probably should have never left. 2wedge 1 Quote

Guest ECBucFan Posted January 19, 2018 Report Posted January 19, 2018 Correct. Oh, if only MLK's dream could come true: I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. (and State Football Championships) Martin Luther King, Jr. Too many racists in DeSoto to make MLK's dream come true there. How sad. Quote
dBerrySports Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 "Racists", lol. Anyways let me move far away from that. Are there any SETX coaches that would apply for either of those positions? Quote

Or administrations/school boards are quick to have coaches removed - it works both ways. Me first society - what can you for me or what have you done for me lately? Quote

The issue isn’t about color, it’s Mathis. Those in power love him there and are moving heaven and earth to bring him back. It just so happens that the coaches on either side are different colors. It would be on CNN 24/7 and thousands would be marching in the streets. Quote
