Somewhat not related, as far as SETX basketball goes, but just browsing through the districts and looking at travel for teams....6 - 2A, Iraan to El Paso Da Vinci, 302 miles, 4h 18m......for a district basketball game!

3-6A might not have the distance but will top that for time.
San Angelo Central
Abilene
Weatherford
Haltom
Richland
LD Bell
Euless Trinity

With traffic Central may have 5 hour drives to every school but Abilene and Weatherford.

The West Fort Worth, Abilene, and Wichita Falls district is pretty baffling as well.

I know y'all got it bad last alignment. Looks like some better school-night drives in your new district.

Yes.  I know the UIL has a tough job when it comes to alignments, but common sense should play a role somewhere in the process.  I would think the sparsely populated regions of west Texas are very challenging during the realignment process, but a 300 mile district trip is a little ridiculous.

Maybe the UIL will suggest they play via Xbox Live lol

Juggernaut of a district. I can't see how yall make the playoffs. Lol

Why there's only five teams in 24-2A is a mystery to me.  Especially since D. Big Sandy isn't that far, and they could move San Augustine out of 22-2A, which has 8 teams to 23-2A to replace Big Sandy.  Must do the small schools last - their tired - and just want to finish up.  Ridiculous.
