Guest 87CRU79 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Who do yall think next year's running back is going to be? Cameron Bass - Sr. - 5'7'' 170- Proven RB, succesful as a TB on the JV, and as a replacement FB on the Varsity. IDK the total yardage during his stint with the Varsity, but he scored 3 TD's. Current frontrunner for the position. Very speedy (hi 4.6/ low 4.7), makes great cuts, and hits the hole hard. Coaches complaint: he is a little small, but Neumann calls him a hybrid of Daniel Tompkins/Dustin Driskill. Wareall Grogan- Jr. - 5'10'' 200- Only played in a couple of games due to academic reasons, but showed heart and determination during the playoffs. Eventhough he played linebacker during the season, he has been getting touches this offseason. Only complaint of the coaches is that he has a big body, but doesn't use it to his advantage. Paul Roy- Soph.- 5' 9'' ? 185?- Has the biggest upside of the three due to him being a sophomore, but has no track record for the Varsity level. Supposedly is pretty fast and strong, but coaches don't know if he can make the jump from fresh. to varsity. They also don't lke the fact that he tries to run outside on a designed inside play. He will more than likely see the defensive side of the ball due to the need at DB, but expect him to spell either Bass/Grogan off at the RB postition.
Guest ECBucFan Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Sounds like a perfect opportunity for a "tandem" or "committee' system at RB. It could work really well.
