I’ve seen the applicants. I’d expect Jeff Nelson to get it. But I guess we’ll see.

Nelson is 21-31 as a head coach in 5 years. HF the last 5 years are 19-32. I don't see much difference, and on the bright side he would be the AD.

Nelson was at CENTRAL last year, not Ozen.  Central kids don't live in Cheek...

Hypothetically speaking, just saying, why would old Ozen kids go to H-F because Nelson is there?  He has few ties to Ozen kids.  He haven't coached at Ozen over 5 years now...  He had more ties to Central, as he was assistant coach there for a couple of years and HC last year.

I’m referring to kids who are going from starter to backup and have a different option with a somewhat familiar face. The superintendent is a former BISD guy. It’s not outside the realm of possibility that kids who were at Ozen and are now backups to look into Hamshire-Fannett. 

For example, backups at PAM transferring to Mid-County schools. It may not happen, just a thought.

A big requirement of head coach/AD at HF is dealing with politics. Nelson should have plenty of experience with that coming from BISD. Different type of politics but you see what I mean

Politics are at almost every HC job, so any HC should have experience at politics.
