SILSBEE 80 SOMERSET 61/ FINAL

It is same time next year for the Silsbee Tigers as they make their 3rd straight Class 4A State Basketball Tournament appearance and look for a state championship repeat as they take on the Somerset Bulldogs in this Class 4A state semifinal!

Joe Sigler's Tigers, 28-8 on the season and champions of District 22-4A, traveled this road to the tournament:

Bi-District: Huntington, 98-63

Area: Houston North Forest, 84-54

Regional Quarterfinal: Houston Scarborough, 99-76

Regional Semifinal: Waco Connally, 75-66

Region III Final: Houston Yates, 120-103

 

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs, 28-9 on the season and champions of District 30-4A, reached the tournament by traveling this road:

Bi-District: Lytle, 68-64

Area: Aransas Pass, 56-45

Regional Quarterfinal: Port Isabel, 74-36

Regional Semifinal: Brazosport, 46-41

Region IV Final: West Oso, 61-56

The winner of this game will face the winner of the Dallas Carter/Seminole State Semifinal, which will be played immediately preceding this game, Saturday at 7:00 pm for the Class 4A State Championship!

Yeah Coach Sigler pulled the starters along with Chris Martin and Tre Lowe with 3:45 left in the game.  One more to go tomorrow night. Dallas Carter is no push and seemed to have good outside shooter and decent rebounding team. I personally think Carter is a half notch better than Yates. Silsbee will need to be hitting on all cylinders. Great win today!!!

The big guy for Somerset had some good blocks.  Kaay Barnes blocked one or two or two of his shots as well, and even beat him on the tip off.  Amazing!   I don't know why I was so concerned  with somerset before the game, other than you have to respect everyone at this time of the season.  Anyway, that's over with.  Good season Somerset.
