Lydell Wilson wouldn’t be bad

He is my pick.  He started up Rosenberg Lamar Consolidated where he won a state championship in 2007.  I wouldn't consider the 5 that haven't been head coaches before because if you are going to do that, you might as well just give it to Nelson or Taylor because at least you know what you are getting.

The article says 6 but it's actually 7 that are either currently a head coach or been one in the past.  I don't know how to post their records here but

Jeff Nelson

Ed Taylor

Shaun Wynn

Todd Wright

Audie Jackson

Lydell Wilson

J.D. Jordan

Lydell Wilson only won at Lamar Consol because the Rodgers brothers. He was not great at CE King and he has just been so so at Seven Lakes. Would not be a bad hire and probably the best on that list. But temper your expectations if that’s the best BISD can get.

Yep, two brothers that made it to the NFL and that was about it.

Does anyone know anything about Kirk Botkin, Audie Jackson, or JD Jordan?

Imo at looking at the records Jordan and Wright is the ones I would be looking at. I wonder how tough of district they had.

Wright was in Houston ISD, so take that as you will.   Jordan played different sets of teams over the years, including Pearland and the FB teams.

Kirk Botkin is worth looking at, not because of his record but looking at where he has coached over the years I think he should be real contender if he interviews well.  Coached under Spurrier at South Carolina, Defensive Coordinator at South Carolina State after that, University of Arkansas, and now at Dekaney.  I could be totally off but it is an intriguing pick in my opinion.
