I'm curious to know a few things here.  Which of these candidates has the most experience? Who has accomplished the most? Which of these guys have head coaching experience? Which of these guys has ties in BISD? Just curious to know.

FYI - Rashanta Leblanc is a candidate for the GIRLS job not the guys, from what I understand.

I asked someone in administration yesterday and I was told that she was a candidate for the girls position, not the guys. No big deal, I was trying to find out for myself. I hear they are narrowing this thing down over the next few days and preparing to interview.  I was asking what was known about some of these guys. Like I said I know a few of them, but some I've never heard of.  Outside of Thomas and Paul, I know the West Orange coach, another that was a former Ozen and Lamar State assistant, and head coach in Houston, and another if I'm not mistaken used to be the head coach at Houston Wheatley. One other played at Ozen on the state championship team, and was a Central assistant at one time, and two Central girls assistants. Not real sure of the others. Its always fun speculating these things, but you just never know how they will turn out.

It’s not the same thing. She would never get THIS boys job. Period. She is applying for the girls job, as I said before.

The article say she going for the boys job.  And if she can coach well and will have the boys in a great position, I'm not against her getting the job.

You're not against a person getting a 6A boys basketball job that has no experience coaching boys basketball?

I said IF she can coach. I said that without really knowing what she can do.  Actually, non of us knows what she can do since we've never seen her coach boys.  I'm saying this to say...  She's not going for the girls job, for obvious reasons if Coach Walker-Brown put in for the girl's job.  

There is a very qualified canidate for this job on the list, but sometimes, there's other things that a factored in sometimes above experience. That may or may not be the case here.  We'll see.  I'm ok either way...

So you mean to tell me that she is not confident enough to apply for the girls job but has the unmitigated GALL to apply for the boys position? I am telling you guys, its a misprint. She is NOT a candidate for a boys job, especially THIS ONE. Perhaps she could try to make history at Hamshire Fannett or some place like that, but THIS one is NOT the one for that. I see a guy or two on this list that may be really good for this job, but Leblanc is NOT getting this job as a female coaching the boys, even if she were trying to apply for it.

I don't know if she can or she can't.. maybe she's an absolute basketball genius.  I'm simply implying that the time in which to find out how well she can coach boys or not may not be to throw her into her first boys coaching experience with a 6A boys job.  All I'm saying.  Because I'm pretty positive that coaching boys basketball is a lot different than coaching girls basketball.  Just like coaching 6A basketball is a lot different than coaching 1A basketball (for example).  Just because it's all basketball doesn't make it the same.

Coach LeBlanc will not be the boys basketball coach of United.  She will be offered the Varsity assistant position if Coach Brown (Ozen) accepts the Varsity head spot.  Brown just has more time under her belt and a longer resume at the time but LeBlanc will be a good one too.  I have no problem with either of these 2 being over my incoming freshman daughter, but LeBlanc will not be running the boys program.  But from what I hear on this NFL draft and how it goes for Tony Brown, LeBlanc may be running the girls program...

Interesting.  If Tony get a drafted, then Coach Brown will be burning out too?  Hmmmm.

Talked with Coach Tammy Brown-(Ozen) at 3:10 pm today the rumor that she'll retire or not seek the Head Coach Position at United  if Tony Brown gets drafted is absolutely Not True. She is an active applicant for the position.

Isn't Fontenot a vice-principal at Central? What if she applies? She was always the best coach in Beaumont just never had the players like Brown did. Give her Ozen players and you got a powerhouse at any level.

Coach Fontenot is in administration at Central and put her years in as coach, and from what I hear, is very content with her position. So I doubt that she will even apply, which is why I never mentioned her.

Figured just a wish. Always said and heard from mutliple coaches if you gave her Ozen players she would have a couple of championships. This is now a chance to prove everyone right.

By who, because I was told they were going to interview 4 finalists.
