The Bridge City Cardinals continue their playoff journey tonight as they take on the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks in Game 1 of a Class 4A area round best of 3 series.  The Cardinals advanced to this round by sweeping Huntington in their bi-district series, 8-2 and 8-1.  The Hawks reached this round with a 12-0 win over Houston Washington.

The winner of this series will face the winner of the Jasper/Tarkington series.

It looked like the runner was tagged out at second before the runner crossed the plate. Tough call. HJ had several chances to score runs tonight. Just couldn't get a hit when they needed it. Had based loaded in first with no outs and didn't score. Congrats to BC! Let's close this thing out tomorrow!

Listening on the radio it sounded as if the umpires weren't sure if the player crossed home before the out in the 6th?  Did anyone see the play?

I was there and couldn’t really tell where from where I was standing. Was trying to see both play at second and home, and couldn’t tell honestly

It won’t let me post video even when edit it it says too big so all I could post was photo from it that shows tag way before slide. HJ definitely missed opportunities but just hate that bad call resulted in game winning run... HJ has to fight back Friday and play Saturday

Is it wrong of me to hope, just a little, in a teeny-tiny way, that HJ wins this after BC baseball pushed Dubois out?

You are so misinformed! As always!

Looking at the three umpires in the picture no way any of the three could see both at the same time based on their positioning.

The 1st Base Umpire should be in position to watch both, I'm pretty sure it is his responsibility.
