PhatMack19 Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 I would like someone explain the 3rd BH run “After stolen third base by Mangus, defensive obstruction gives @BH_Athletics 3-2 lead.” Quote
PhatMack19 Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 It’s been 16 minutes since I.C.’s last tweet. That may be good news for Nederland. Or his phone died.... Quote

PhatMack19 Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 Can anyone explain how BH scored the game winning run on an obstruction call? bulldog81 1 Quote
BHFAN Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 No idea and don’t know if this helps , but they are calling it an Obstruction/Fake Tag call??? Quote
BHFAN Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 I love google A fake tag is considered obstruction. A fake tag is when the fielder is at a base and takes an action that simulates an attempted tag, which causes the runner to slow down or slide. Faking a catch of a ball while not near a base or the basepath, is not a fake tag. Quote

Clueless Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 Just got back. Great game and excellent pitching by both sides. My son has had that same obstruction call against him before. Unfortunately, it was towards the end of the game. Still early, between two really good teams. Saturday should be another good one. Quote
KF89 Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 bh runner was in a pick off play at 2nd. nederland catcher threw behind runner at 2nd after a pitch. Bh runner couldnt get back to 2nd, so took off for 3rd, the ball popped out of nederland 2nd basemans glove as he attempted to catch throw & make throw to 3rd for tag out, bh runner was full speed trying to get to 3rd & sliding into 3rd not aware the ball was dropped & no throw, there was never any action by ned 3rd baseman to make runner slow down or slide or obstruct runner from base or going home. But hey 9 times out 0f 10 if an umpire is left to make a judgment or interpretation call on a play some one is getting hosed Quote

Both teams played hard & bh team is very good & well coached not taking anything away from either team. Quote
Extra Base Eagle Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 If there are 2 umps you might get away with that, but last night we had 4.. he got caught. Quote
