tvc184 Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 I have a 4 day deer hunt coming up in two weeks near Eagle Pass. If I see a gobbler in my corn, I might take him, especially if I already have a deer. The turkey season their runs until January 21st.

The rest of the state usually runs from the same time frame as deer season along with a more extended spring season.

Your best bet on turkey down there will be near a live creek or water source. Your ranch will be very near a big ranch named "Turkey Creek".

I will have maybe 300 acres but it will be luck of the draw if it has water on that area. I am hoping to get a shot at a good deer by the second (or third) day so I can spend some time trying to bag a turkey.
bronco1 Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 You can call in the winter, soft easy clucks and purrs like a feeding hen or something. I have heard of it working.
