Guest Orangeboy Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 That is a great pic of those two great men together. Alot of fond memories came to mind seeing them on Saturday. Still love just talking baseball with them. Good luck to Coach Young in this years season, would love to see him get to Austin another time.Just goes to show you how difficult it is to get there. One of the greatest coaches ever, coaches over 40 years and has only gotten there once. I'm always rooting for Coach though.
redbirdbaseball Posted March 27, 2007 Author Report Posted March 27, 2007 Coach Young is one of those guys who doesn't need a list of state appearances to prove his worth in the coaching community. As great a coach as he still is, his contributions are felt more off the field. But your point is well taken. There are a lot of great coaches out there who never get their shot at state.
Bears Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 If you get the time or chance go to the petition and read some of the signatures and comments, for me it brings back some great memories. And For Coach Young ever kind word is well deserved. How would you like to be on the school board that might not let this happen........might not be a fun place.
redbirdbaseball Posted March 27, 2007 Author Report Posted March 27, 2007 I have a feeling the school board will do the right thing.

Guest Orangeboy Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Thought I would get this some more support since he is headed to the state tourney. Kind of a neat deal that Coach Bryant and BC honored his first state team earlier this year.
swampdude Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 For all you folks who remember Coach Young's "respect" for the baseball gods.....you have to read this!http://news.galvestondailynews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=4536a55d331f61af

redbirdbaseball Posted June 13, 2007 Author Report Posted June 13, 2007 According to my family back in the Golden Triangle, the Penny Record published an article about our cause. If anyone has online access to this article, please pass it along as I am unable to get my hands on the paper itself.A big thanks goes out to the Penny Record for helping to keep the awareness up; we've seen a good spike in signatures since last night. Thanks,FG
injun Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 Maybe they should name it after Billy Bryant (LOL). He must be a better coach since "HE" has already been to Austin more times than Coach Young
