PNG Proud Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Have been hearing good things about Toledo, but since I don't have the time to run up there, I've made a couple of trips to Spindletop. The slot is 14"-16" on bass and in 1 complete day ( 2 1/2 days) we caught 22 bass (10 slot fish) up to 3 1/2 #'s, and 16 bull bream , up to 11 1/2" long! That's the 2nd time I've caught bream that big. Talk about a fight on ultra-light tackle. The bass fishing still hasn't fully turned on though. I can't wait til it does!
huntfishsoccer Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 On Toledo me and a buddy caught around 60 fish this weekend with two eight pounders.
PNG Proud Posted March 29, 2007 Author Report Posted March 29, 2007 Any news on Rayburn, specifically South, like Mill creek area? I'm headed there on Easter. With my luck, the big bite will be over. Oh well, at least the white perch might still be hungry.
PNG Proud Posted April 8, 2007 Author Report Posted April 8, 2007 Just got back from Rayburn....where it turned so cold IT SNOWED for a short time Sat eve. So, naturally, the fish got lock-jaw. The 1st time I've been to my camp in 5 yrs and we have record setting cold temps, rain, sleet and snow. (Thanks alot Coop) [just kidding of course]Oh well, it could be worse. I coulda been offshore.BTW, we had 5 bass and 1 crappie in 2 days. Not too good for this time of the yr.
tvc184 Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 I am reporting wind, rain, frozen precipitation and no chance that you will catch me on the water for a few days.
