gringo Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 Fishin Bass N Bucks tourny Sunday out of south end of lake. May run to Caney Creek area - any tips? Jody?
tvc184 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Parks and Wildlife says Caney Creek Park is closed. You going to put in at Sandy Creek or Harvey Creek or do you have a private ramp? The last time I fished Caney Creek we killed them on grape works with white tails. That was about 20 years ago............... ;D
gringo Posted March 28, 2007 Author Report Posted March 28, 2007 No, I gotta put in at Umphries down near Twin Dikes on the south end of the lake, then run north. Just looking ideas!
duke2559 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Is this your first abssnbucks of the year? Cany is open now though. No matter where you fish your best bet is to look for them on beds. Right now is the prime time. I think at this moment the whole lake is in full spawn. Just have to find the right ones.
gringo Posted March 28, 2007 Author Report Posted March 28, 2007 Yeah , but very familiar with the lake. Don't have to go to Caney, just figured less pressure than Five Fingers or Veach. I'm sure they will be on the beds (which is always alot of fun).
