I just think they don't have a superstar anymore!! the closest thing they have is Manu Ginobili and he comes off the bench!!! Mavs have Dirk, Rockets have T-Mac and Yao........ spurs need someone to fill the seats
bobcatfan Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 I think the reason people like the spurs less is because first off, the rockets are a lot closer to us, and secondly, the mavs are just more popular and a flashier team. I dont know about the spurs not having a superstar, Tim Duncan is a superstar, and one of the 5-10 best players in the league. The spurs are my least favorite texas team, although i'll pull for them after the mavs and rockets are eliminated, which i think is how a lot of people feel about that. I've never thought are a very flashy team, i think that has something to do with why they arent huge fan favorites. I've liked Tim Duncan less and less too over the years (although i still root for him) because he seems to whine to the officials all the time, more than usual, and it gets on my nerves.

go stros Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 well i may be a loner here, but the spurs have been my favorite team for years....about 11 years ago my mom moved to sa so naturally i became a spurs fan...especially since my grandparents and aunt are season ticket holders and would take me from time to time! now as for why texans dont like the spurs....couldnt tell you.....and phenom manu is good, but like bobcatfan said what about tim duncan(btw hes been an all star starter for years....and hes always selected to all-nba first team)...and let me add in tony parker(he was an all star too....manu wasnt) should be a great western conference playoff race....especially in the second round if all three teams win in round 1....2 teams are gonna have to play!
NBA_phenom Posted March 29, 2007 Author Report Posted March 29, 2007 Manu is good, but he doesn't play like a superstar...... he isn't a smooth dribbler or have that much of a pure looking jumpshot(even tho it does go in) I would agree that he could be a superstar......... Tony parker is a good point guard but he isn't flashy like Rafer Alston or Jason Terry which isn't really a good thing but if he added excitement to his game he would be even more of a crowd attraction(like steve nash is) but you can't hate him because apparently he knows how to get the ladies ;DTim Duncan does complain alot and I really haven't liked him much since he was drafted....... He isn't that mobile and all he has is a hook shot...... even though he can control the boards.... Important thing is that they play as a team though and win....... anyways sorry for ramblin but in my opinion those are the reasons fans don't recognize them as much as the other Texan Teams.... Lol but oh well none of that really matters cuz the [glow=red,2,300]PHOENIX SUNS[/glow] are gonna win the championship this year
