Alpha Wolf Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 If Fernandez is taking the snaps, I'm going with Nederland. If he misses due to the sprained knee, WO-S. Either way, this game won't be a blowout or shutout by either team. jake94 1 Quote
MustangNation#1 Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 Ya'll have to remember SPEED is what counts and Wos haves allot of it Quote
RoschonsBigBro Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 So.....I'm going with nederland. Hurts to type that KF89, Alpha Wolf and jake94 3 Quote

BMTSoulja1 Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 I was told that Nederland knows how to handle speed after they saw Memorial already. The Fernandez kid I think will play, but probably will be dinged up. Think it'll be a good game but Nederland at come up 1 score short. . Quote
MhsTitans Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 Nederland by 7. Speed will not be a problem for them. Only concern will be if the qb is at 100% but still the back up showed he could handle it if he is needed. Quote
OleMoe Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 Based off the Vidor scrimmage Nederland has a chance. Quote
navydawg31 Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 From the sounds of Fernandez pops on the PA scrimmage thread it sounds like his boy is ready to go! Nederland has speed for themselves don’t act like they can’t handle it. They have always competed and handled there own against teams with speed Alpha Wolf 1 Quote
chorizo Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 One thing is for sure, one of the boys that live under my roof will play qb Friday night in west orange for the bulldogs!!!!!Wether it be #1 or #11 I don’t know, the coaches will decide that!!! I will say this much,if it’s up to #11 he will be on the field but again the coaches will decide that, that’s possibly the only luxury of having brothers that are both qb’s!!! Yea I was talking to a coworker about this unique situation. I'm picking the Dogs this coming Friday but of course not the following one... BMTSoulja1 and chorizo 2 Quote
PABorn Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 The back up looked like a better passing QB. I think the task is huge to play against WOS for your first game as a starter. But if Nederland plays the better passer, and along with the talent they have at RB I would say Nederland by 2 scores. If the starting QB comes back and plays then WOS only has to defend screens and really short routes. If that's the case then I say it'll come down to the fourth quarter and the winning team will win by one score. chorizo 1 Quote
DeuceSixSuited Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 I like Nederland in this game. Good situation in Nederland right now with the QB situation. You have one of the hardest running QB’s and competitors in setx and you have a backup that would start at 95% of schools in Setx. Kid has a Cannon. I wonder if they will have a rotation with them or not. Either way, give me Nederland 28-14 bulldawg64 and PABorn 2 Quote

He should be playing line backer or running back if he's got that headstrong football mentality. I agree he is an athlete. I just think that the back up at Nederland would produce more as well as add another phase for their offense. Quote

I agree though. #11 could be just as good on defense. Quote
dj Posted August 26, 2018 Report Posted August 26, 2018 It's great to see everyone opinion again on football.here's the thing:PAM,BUT,Newton, silsbee, probably are the most talented teams in setx.Big NEd,png probably has more heart than any teams in our area.it brings me to this.what everyone wonders what makes w.o so special every year. And I'll be the first to say they have a lot flaws with last year and this year team. But what remains is that IT! And that is these kids out here has a dog in them u just can't coach.coach T gets it out of them every year.so when a team plays them they better take advantage of the miscues they may have.for instance take the sc game last year.pG took advantage what was given to them on that day.so while most base there opinion on what they heard.need to take time out and see for the next 4 wks those teams will know what this dog is all abt.i promise by game ends they want wanna play them again. If this is who I think it is, I met you at a Beaumont Bulls game last Saturday. Anyway, WO-S has a pretty tough non-district schedule and with that being said, I think they enter district with a 3-3 record with losses to Nederland, Newton and Crosby. But that will prepare them for district and their playoff run. Nobody stays on top forever and I just think it maybe a little too much for the Stangs this year, just my opinion though. But hey, if I'm wrong, I'll come back and face the music... Quote

My wife is from bmt.so I catch a lot of bmt games.and one thing I know that if w.o doesn't go 3-3 U will be the first to say it.and no I don't believe they will go undefeated. But remember this year will be harder than any year for them to get back.but they have a few kids that has been there for 3 years that are just dogs.and they will look like a totally different team watch.and the next 2yrs it will be extremely hard just to win the district. coach bear Posted August 26, 2018 Report Posted August 26, 2018 Great opening games this week, Crosby at New Caney, La Porte at Clear Brook and this one. To me Nederland has been solid defensively for the last 3 decades, and west orange has been state title contenders the last 4 years. BUT, because he has so few starters returning, old school coach Cornell (not calling names as I am close to his age and experience in coaching) was smart in making it hard on his young uns, to sharpen the iron for the playoffs. They could be 0-3 as some one else said, but gain a year of experience in less than a month. So Nederland 17 Orange 13. ( only fear is Nederland often starts slow, at least with their previous HC).
