GeauxCougars Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 As I said in a post in a different thread, Buna has ALOT to play for. Coldspring needs to be on the lookout for a team with alot of heart in a tough district, especially for the school's size. Generally strong pitching from a staff led by Seniors Brant Stimits, Calvin Gauthier and Perry Wilcox, and impressive fielding as of late show signs of improvement from the Cougars, even after a dissapointing loss to Jasper. Cougars HAVE to win this one to stay alive in district, so watch for the solid basehitting sticks of Jordy Morgan and Mario Gorgano, and also the power of Justin Clark. He showed everyone that a big man hides in his body 2 weeks ago with his grand slam. Coldspring has to keep a eye on big man DH Luke Hughes as well. This kid has one of the best eyes at the plate around.
Ty Cobb Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 I have to go with Buna. The Cougars hitters seem to be disciplined at the plate. They don't swing at bad pitches. Buna 7 Coldspring 5
