fbplayer999 Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 My thought no, as long as whats his name is..........i'll quit
ndnsrock44 Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 You got that right. What a waste of talent last year was....Very disappointing!
Guest Indian Chief Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 We need a fresh start, no doubt. Alot of Indians agree with me.
DP#1FAN Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Not sure what the problem is but I know this PNG has always played with pride. I hope the Indians can turn things around.
77 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 PNG has lost alot of great asst. coaches in the last few years.
WOS95 Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 i thought png had a good team last year with some very good athletes. i realize the expectations are high for success at png, but you got to remember its hard to get a playoff spot in that 4A district with dayton, central, and nederland in the mix. im sure png will be back in the playoff mix soon. Â
ballcoach Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Coach Burnett and his staff or trying their best to win. They work their kids just like everyone else. Give them the opportunity to WIN. He has a few new Coaches on his staff that are likening to the PNG system. They will be allright.
play-ball!! Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 Last year they had talent but just not enough experience they had 2 seniors starting on the defensive side of the ball and on offense they had a tailback and the offensive line as seniors the rest of the team was juniors and a sophomore quarterback the only thing they are losing is the offensive line and they are actually getting a better one bigger boys and they are more dedicated than last year ANd they are running a new spread offense so look for them to make a good run the next two years
tvc184 Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 Every dog has his day. PN-G will have winning teams and be in the playoffs just as most other teams. In goes in cycles. Lumberton however......
WOS95 Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 Every dog has his day. PN-G will have winning teams and be in the playoffs just as most other teams. In goes in cycles. Lumberton however...... uh oh, here we goÂ
77 Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 Bigger lineman dosent always equal better lineman.
Wldthng Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 I heard that there was an 8th grader at PN who has alot of talent.
Guest Indian Chief Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 I've heard that as well. I also hear we're going to the spread this year.
indian28 Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 who would that be? the best 8th grader would be matt desmond a qb from groves
tvc184 Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 I ran on 4 flats one time but I got home before the cops caught me.
HFHORNS Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 I ran on 4 flats one time but I got home before the cops caught me. Thats funny right there!! ;D
mossimize#76 Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 the kid in 8th grade benches 400 pounds.. HA HA
PNG1992 Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 the first step in regaining the glory of PNG's past is for the community to vot YES and pass the school bond issue in May. The plans for the stadium alone are extraordinary (field turf, 3 level press box, etc etc) but the mood of the entire district from elementary school and up is way down from what it was in the past. Upgrades to the districts facilities and equipment would go a long way to change the entire attitude within the district. People would be excited about being at PNG again. Second step is getting a HC that will allow his assistants to coach. Burnett is a hell of a motivator and defensive guy, a good figurehead and representative of PNG but, expecially since Long left, his hands are all over the boring offensive trend the team has developed. The team had the talent last year to do more offensively than it did. He even jumped in and changed coach Fischers defense scheme after the LCM debacle. I'm not one of the ones screaming for him to retire, but if hes the HC he needs to hire a good young offensive mind to run the offense and LET HIM COACH. Dont scrap his system after a couple of bad weeks. If he cant do that then he needs to go.Overall as long as we are in 4A with our numbers we should be competitive. Hopefully with the talent coming back at the skill positions it will come this season....
Brawler12 Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 PNG should never ever be defeated at home. They always have the best officials of any team in the area. Just make some false id's and give those guys some fake mustaches and glasses and you will be back on top of the state in no time at all.
Guest Indian Chief Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 When we run the same plays over and over it doesn't matter where we play. Just glad we're getting the Turf for next season.
ndnsrock44 Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 Last year they had talent but just not enough experience  they had 2 seniors starting on the defensive side of the ball and on offense they had a tailback and the offensive line as seniors the rest of the team was juniors and a sophomore quarterback  the only thing they are losing is the offensive line and they are actually getting a better one  bigger boys and they are more dedicated than last year ANd they are running a new spread offense so look for them to make a good run the next two years We had plenty of talent last year on offense, but it was wasted by TERRIBLE coaching and playcalling. I'm not sure where this bigger better o-line is coming from. The backups on varsity last year were not bigger or better and the JV o-line had a lot of problems. What will help is if the rumors are true that Dustin Long is coming back as QB coach. Maybe he can help Welch with playcalling and keep Burnett's nose out of the offense. We lost 6 seniors on defense, including all our LB's, but we do havesome good ones returning. The Sr's we lost were Perkins(DT), Walker, Faseler, Fenton and Wright(LB's) and Matt at DB. We had talent, so let's don't put the blame on the kids.
