jdawg03 Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Its interesting to me that PNG has non district games scheduled during district....with 20-4a being such a tough basball district, it seems like this would hurt more than it helps..thoughts?
Guest JoesBros Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 yea that is kind of odd. Ill see if I can get some info on that.
pngbbfan Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 PN-G always plays a tough schedule, but this is one of the toughest in a long time. All 5a tournaments and most non district games are 4a playoff teams from a year ago. Should be a good year for the Indians.
Guest JoesBros Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 Thanks for the post pngbbfan. Feel free to post anytime. I dont know I just kinda find it weird them scheduling some of those games during district.
jdawg03 Posted January 16, 2006 Author Report Posted January 16, 2006 sounds like a deathwish to me....PNG must have a DEEP pitching staff
Guest JoesBros Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 I heard they have a lot of returners from last years playoff squad.
AshlyHasBeen Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 My senior year at PN-G we played in the Woodlands and Deer Park Tournaments. It was tough, but helped us when district came around. Considering it's a seven team district I can understand playing games instead of taking days off. It makes for good practice, and allows you to try things you wouldn't in league play.
Guest JoesBros Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Good point. Who better to answer that than a fellow PNG Alum.
swampdude Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 This isn't Coach Stone's first rodeo. He has done this before. He uses these games to keep his hitters sharp and allows younger pitchers to get in some varsity innings without risking his normal starters. With the depth of his program, it is a good call for Indian baseball.
Guest JoesBros Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Your right Coach Stone has been around the block once or twice. He knows what kind of talent as well there is in the state tournement so I guess that helps them get prepared for the playoffs too.
