Baker is tied for third in the league with 17 power-play goals while his 80 points tie him for fifth and his 35 goals tie him for sixth. Baker, 28, was voted as a starter for the ECHL All-Star Game and scored a goal and had an assist in the American Conference’s 6-3 win. He had a point in each of his first 16 games this season, scoring 28 points (16g-12a) including eight goals during a six-game goal streak from Oct. 27-Nov. 10. The native of Kingston, ON returned to professional hockey after playing three years at Acadia University from 2003-06, has 96 points (41g-55a) in 78 regular season ECHL games with Johnstown and Texas and had five points (4g-1a) in five games for Johnstown in the 2002 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Baker also had two stints in the AHL this season, playing with Milwaukee and Toronto.Baker joins Dayton goaltender Adam Berkhoel, Alaska defenseman Peter Metcalf, Gwinnett defenseman John Awe and forward Brad Schell and Idaho forward Marty Flichel on the 2006-07 ECHL First TeamThe Texas Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate for the AHL’s Houston Aeros.
