KFDM COOP Posted April 6, 2007 Author Report Posted April 6, 2007 Nederland 2, Vidor 1 NEDERLAND – Beau Helmke pitched a four-hit complete game and Aaron McFarland singled home the winning run in the bottom of the fifth as Nederland scored a key 22-4A win Thursday night at Metreyeon-Delahoussaye Park.Vidor’s Taylor Robichau doubled and scored the Pirates’ first run in the sixth inning and his team had two on with two away in the seventh when Helmke struck out Larry Williams to end the game.Helmke, who struck out eight batters in all, had knocked in Nederland’s first run in the second inning. McFarland was 2 for 3 to lead an eight-hit Bulldog attack against Vidor pitchers Trae Hester and Johnathan Smith.Nederland improves to 4-4 in district, 9-9 overall. Vidor is now 5-3, 16-5.
