Deweyville7281
Pirates played very well. One fielding error on the night. Ethan Williams pitched a complete game one hitter, walking only one.

snowflake
THE UMPS IN THIS GAME WERE THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN IN ANY BASEBALL GAME AT ANY LEVEL. ANAHUAC WOULD HAVE STILL LOST THE GAME BUT THAT NEEDED TO BE SAID. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE SEEN A STRIKE ZONE THAT WAS SO BIG FOR ONE TEAM AND SO SMALL FOR ANOTHER. THEY WERE PATHETIC. rhino1877
They were pretty consistant for both teams.

THEY WERE PATHETIC.I have to agree with Rhino....they were consistent for both sides, granted there were some bad calls for both sides. But I have to disagree on the umps being the worst.....that would be the umps at the Warren/D'ville game last week! When we were up 10-1, he gathered our team after a bad call and told them it was more or less a "pity call" and to let it go. That call cost us the 2 runs that had already come in and possibly 2 more that were on base...we ended up losing 18-14. Since when are there pity calls in High School District Baseball games? And their strike zone went anywhere from big to little for both sides so the pitchers never knew what to throw. They surely take the prize for worst umps! Great game Pirates! Bobcat55
Why is it that the team that loses a game they say the umps were against them and when they win they were the same for both sides. Just a thought!!

snowflake
Consistant is a word that a Deweyville fan would use to describe them. There were several pitches where the Deweywille catcher turned his glove over and laid it on the dirt to make the catch and the pitch was called a strike. They were not curveballs either. . I don't care if you are Great or Average but be consistant for both teams. This crew wasn't.
