Sabine Lake:

There is a lot of small trout action under the birds on jigs& soft plastic with "Morning Glory" a strong color. The better trout have been caught drifting the flats using the same lure. When it is calm some trout on surface lures.

Sabine River:

Scattered catches of good flounder in the cuts on plastic bounced on the bottom. Small rat reds mixed in with bass along the river bank. Wacky worms and craw worms worked around the brush and grass. Bass to 3lbs still around. The local bass spawn is winding down.

Toledo Bend:

We are down to the last 1/3rd of the spring spawn but we do have some Florida strain bass that spawn up into May. Best shot now is a drop shot, Carolina rig, or Texas rig worm in 8-12 feet of water on the open lake flats near the drop offs.

Watermelon/red lizards, French fry's, and worms good choice of baits.

Strolling for Crappie in 8-12 feet with black/chartreuse or white with pink still going strong. Not much action in the timber on crappie. Night fishing with shiners is very good.

Sam Rayburn:

Bass are still on the beds in 2 to 6feet of water. The lake is still rising and some bass spawning in deep grass beds. The Super Fluke rigged weedless and Rogues in Chrome/Blue with Orange belly very good on bright days. Some good bass on 8 to 14 foot humps on Carolina rigs with lizards or Baby Brush Hogs. Some take on crank baits.
