Bears Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 I have been able to see most of the SLC teams play this year due to following the boy so here is my Top 5 in the SLC::1. Texas State- Overall the best, good solid pitching, along with good speed and a solid offense.2. Sam Houston- Probably the best coached team, love the big swingers in the middle of the offense, pitching is a little above average for the SLC. Defense is the question mark.3. UTSA- Another solid club but not strong offensively except for Rockett.4. Lamar- Good offense, weak pitching and surprising suspect defense.5. McNeese St.- Started slow and seem to be picking up steam, lost some players early that should have been starting but now team chemistry seems better. Could surprise everyone in the SLC tourney.
KFDM COOP Posted April 14, 2007 Author Report Posted April 14, 2007 DH set for Saturday as Friday's game was rained out.

JMay Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Way to get back on track after the Rice game. They definately have the hitting to win the SLC tournament.
Ruckdad Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 I agree JMay - the hitting is definitely there, but it only takes one bad pitching performance and you're behind the eight ball in the tourney. This team has not shown consistent enough pitching, or defense for that matter, to make them the favorites in the SLC torney!
AshlyHasBeen Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 I know what you're getting at but I haven't seen consistance from any team in this conference. Not saying it's watered down but things are very even this season. The to any tournament is stay in the winners bracket. LU doesn't have the pitching depth to make a run from the loser's side.
