The Newton Eagles close out pre-district action with a marquee matchup against the Gilmer Buckeyes.  W.T. Johnston's Eagles, 3-0 on the season come off of a 21-7 win over West Orange-Stark.  Meanwhile, the Buckeyes, 2-2 on the season, look to bounce back from a 66-14 loss to Carthage last week.

No disrespect intended by my post lostaussie... but our kids and coaches are unbelievable. I know y'all have a strong winning tradition as well in Gilmer and I certainly have respect for your entire program.

We are just down but no disrespect taken. That team is one to be proud of. We have had an amazing run since 2003. We are getting some of that goes around comes around. It's all good. Not only that, I still expect us to play 2,3 or maybe even 4 rounds deep.

Like Gata said. When Gilmer gets clicking they will be hard to beat.. They will be hard to beat when the playoffs start. I was at the Newton game and Gilmer has the weapons to do damage.  They will get it together.  Pulling for them .
