Nobody repping Vidor yet..

I could makeĀ a list of some talented athletes I'd want on my team any day..but since we'll stick to the award winners and stat champs...

Jeff Luker

Rick Culbert

Montana Quirante

Has there been a better family of football players than the quirantes come through setx?

You beat me to it. Ā All three goodĀ choices. Doubt youā€™ll ever see another player win the Willie Ray Smith award for both offense and defense like Montana did.Ā

Quirante was a football player but the other 2 wouldnt even make the greatest in Vidor list. Sure Culbert was fast but not a "football player".Ā

Yes, played QB, Linebacker and punted as Ā well. Hardly came off the field.Ā

Sounds like a warrior. All that running in the offense and to have to chase on D. Extremely well conditioned. Did he play college ball?

Ā Culbert may have been more of a track guy, butĀ  you're dead wrong aboutĀ Jeff Luker.Ā  He was a beast on defense from his linebacker position, led the team in tackles for two years, Willie Ray Smith Award nominee, Super Gold linebacker, All-District and District Defensive MVP.Ā  Ā Ask Jeff Matthews his opinion if you doubt it.

Sorry Its just "MY" opinion and it hasn't changed !

Montana was a BEAST......When he squared his shoulders and turned up field, snot flew....North and south my friend. Just lacked the speed and or size to get to the next level. Saw him as often as I could his senior year, helluva HS football player.

Port Neches-Groves Brothers: Brad Burnett & Matt Burnett: both Defensive Lineman that dominated at their position.

Later Jake Burnett also dominant on the Defensive Line.

Since we're on the subject of brothers, ill just throw out some known brother combinations...

Robert and Garrison Mitchell -Ā  Central

Derrick Hall/Charlie Thomas - Central

Dalion Gants/Ā DessaneĀ Davis - Central

Corey and Casey Nonette - Central

Travis and Quincy Victor - Central

Like Tim listed... Luker was a pure linebacker with the stats and accolades to back it up. I'd take him on my team any day.

Rick was fast...but he had a good mind for football too. Excellent returner, and I liked him even more on defense. He had a lot of INT's. it's a shame Vidor experimented with a west coast offense for 1 yearĀ when he became QB..he would have done some damage if they remained an Option team.Ā  Definitely didn't play to his strengths on that choice.
