Livingston @ Bridge City

I never claimed that Lumberton would roll through this district easily. I’m a realist, but I will say this about Livingston- to drop down from 5A and play this bad is pathetic! Bridge City is having a down year and i would still pick BC to win this game. Sad! When you drop down you gotta at least compete. Come on man!

I see this game as that inspirational movie where the terrible team finally gets them a win and everybody goes nuts like they won state. Usually the score is something like 6-2. I'm predicting BC leads the whole game 2-0, then que the inspirational music, and Livingston makes a superhero effort and slow-mo's over the goal line as the the clock hits 0.00. Of course nobody will know right away, and eventually the official gives the TD signal and the fans storm the field and everybody hugs and kisses as Livingston gets the 6-2 win!!!

Just kidding, BC wins by 3 TD's, poor Livingston.

Bridge City isn't much better than Livingston. Maybe a TD better. But not 3.

And technically, not realistically, but technically, Livingston still has a shot at the playoffs if the win out and LC-M beats Hargrave. Again, highly unlikely, but technically possible.

So this could be a trap for the Cardinals. I hope so because otherwise the Lions will go into 2019 on a 20+ game losing streak. Heck it may be 20 now. The last team we beat doesn't even exist anymore. RIP Ozen.

Let me quit drinking. It's giving me irrational thoughts.

If Livingston can stop the fullback I think they got a shot

I think it's our mutual disdain for Bridge City and fondness of green have us with delusional thoughts.

BTW, why they say Lumberton gonna edge y'all out for a playoff spot in basketball? They're bad.

Boys or girls?

Boys.  We we're terrible last year and lost to them by 3 total points in district. They had some tall thick boys, probably their offensive linemen, but they weren't basketball players.  They did win so I tip my cap, but their ceiling for improvement is low. Our underclassmen crushed them.

Yall in the second or third toughest 4a district in the state. I trust LCM on a bad year to be better than Lumberton on a good year. I expect your district to win 3 of 4 in bi district. Just wondering.

I know they lost a few players. We have a good coach. I really don’t keep up with basket ball but I’m with you I’d pick a bad LCM team over Lumberton.I’m ready for baseball season. I think the girls basketball team should be good.

I think Bridge City squeaks out a win in the friendly confines of Historic Larry Ward Stadium.  It's a tough venue in which to play.  I expect Livingston's players to be freaked out by the flyover that will come courtesy of the Orange County Mosquito Control plane.  Tired legs from the long bus ride and the fact that that the telephone poles are all taller than the trees will be hard for the Lions to adjust to as well.  They will no doubt be amazed by the size of our stands and our ample parking.

It will also be mesmerizing to look across the field and see several thousand people dressed in red watching in eery silence as the contest unfolds.  Except when our award-winning band plays their hearts out, predominantly while we're on offense.

There's no place like home.

I don’t think BC has scored 3 td’s in a game this year

    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an easy and obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.

    • @CIS_org National Security Senior Fellow @BensmanTodd tells Steve Bannon how the U.S. State Department and USAID have been sending American taxpayer funds to religious nonprofits to facilitate mass immigration to our southern border. Bensman says 248 nonprofits are participating in the United Nations’ 2024 agenda to distribute $1.6 billion in cash, transportation, food, and shelter to U.S.-bound immigrants across Mexico and Latin America.
