Lance McCullers Jr. will miss the 2019 season after having Tommy John surgery.

Should have surgery when he first found out earlier in the year, then he would be able to help in playoff run next year.  Not smart on his and Luhnow's part.

For what it is worth, Dr Frank Jobe, who pioneered the Tommy John surgical procedure, was a seventh day adventist.  He was educated at adventist  La Sierra University in Riverside Ca Thenhe went to medical school at nearby adventist med school Loma Linda U, and practiced at the Loma Linda Hospital.
