Brujins44 Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 What is the story on this new pitching coach out at WB does he have some kind of origin story becuase he seemed to have appeared out of nowhere
AshlyHasBeen Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Not sure, I know he coached with the football team this year as well. He was a pretty good ball player for PN-G back in the early 90's.
fancy_ketchup69 Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 i hear they compare him to a shaved chicken
T_totha_K Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 He coached me in football at Edison my 7th grade yr.
wg88pitcher Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 This guy isn't a great pitching coach, but he isn't a bad one either. He knows just enough to try and act smart, but can't really tell a quality HS baseball anything that they don't know. He's a great guy and a good assistant coach, but that is all he'll be in my opinion.
homer123 Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 I think Mr. Meaux is an excellent coach from what i have seen at the games. He looks like he knows his baseball. or his pitchers make him look really good by the way they have been pitching.!!
643 Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Thinking Meaux was at HJ in 97,98, assist to Jeff Rainey.
bearfan Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 We remember him being an assistant in Nederland when Kip McFanland was there. Different style of coaching.
Jags_69 Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 From what i understand he had a recent stint with the Shanghai Sharks where he helped Daisuke Matsuzaka add the infamous "gyro" ball to his arsenal
Castor27 Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Thinking Meaux was at HJ in 97,98, assist to Jeff Rainey.I think it was before 97 more like 95. He was also at SFA at some point, I believe. Good guy, and a good coach.
BigNed? Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 A few years back (03-04) he had a short stint at Nederland coaching the Sophomore baseball team. I can tell you this because well I played then. To me, and I don't mean to be rude, he was without a doubt one of the worst coaches ever. Whether you think this guy knows his baseball or not is redundant because I'm here to tell you he doesn't. He also has a very short fuse and tends to favor anyone willing to pucker up and kiss his butt. He also tends to say many inappropriate things, but that's as far as I will go. I'm sorry, but I don't normally post on public forums, but I feel that this had to be heard, but you have been warned. Also, when he was coaching at Nederland he did always say he and Cody Robbins had been friends for a long time and graduated around the same time so I believe he's either a graduate of Nederland or PNG. Meh..
wg88pitcher Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Wow, that is a harsh statement. Meaux seems to be an ok coach out at WB, definately NOT the worst I have ever seen. No one kisses his butt either, and from what I can tell...his favorites are naturally all of the pitchers due to the fact that he is the pitching coach. A great assest to the bruin staff this year. WB has needed a third coach to help out for a while now, and Meaux is the perfect man for the job. He should fit in well there for many years to come. Good luck coach Meaux!!!
