Newton 59 Grand Saline 5/FINAL

The Newton Eagles continue their defense of their Class 3A, Division II state championship this afternoon as they take on the Grand Saline Indians in area round play!  W.T. Johnston's Eagles, 10-0 on the season pounded Omaha Paul Pewitt in bi-district play, 69-0.  Meanwhile, the Indians, 7-3 on the season, defeateted Blue Ridge in bi-district play 23-0.

The winner of this game will face the winner of the Waskom/Troup area round game.

Newton has lost 3 onsides kicks in the past 2 weeks. I'd expect on sides kicks every time. And a lot of trick plays. Honestly I don't think any team in the 3A division can compete with Newton athletically.  So they should probably pull out all the stops. Thats the only chance they have.
