I will say this...  It got chippy late in this game.  There was some chirping going on between both teams and their were a lot of unsportsmanlike conducts penalties handed out.  Most of which were Wharton players doing extra after the whistle. Of course they called it both ways to offset the penalties... #88 for Wharton was out there yanking our players down and all kinds of dirty stuff and should've gotten ejected.

For the most part, moving forward, we have to walk away from players like that and just point to the scoreboard.  Can't risk our players getting ejected from teams like that.  We're on a mission and they're going home for good.

We played excellent, blocked good, tackled good, special teams played great, AND there was some pretty good coaching.  Coach Smith even said himself we wanted to keep our foot on their necks.  I love this thought process.  I think the most important is our defense is playing lights out and I like our chances of this carting I we to Giddings...  Just an overall great night.

Agreed Soulja. If a player gets ejected is he suspended for the following game as well? Just wondering, can’t afford that at this point in the year.

Yeah they don’t need that right now.. whoever #7 is, the cornerback, that boy can hit. Seen Taylor have some good hits on defense as well

It's funny.  Back in Pee Wee football and middle school ball, that kid avoided contact.  That's what we were talking about in the stands...

I know we played some part in this but i was pretty pleased by our handling of the situation.  Saw one particilular player of ours just turn his back to 88 and stand there.  I wish i could have known what a couple of those on us were.  I have had issues with someof the coaching this year but have to say i was quite pleased the way Smith pulled everybody off the sidelines and field and set them straight.

#22 from Silsbee was the player that turned his back to #88 from Wharton...

Wharton started chirping before the game started. They came in with a big chip on their shoulders. They had a QB that had thrown for over 2,000 yards, a big, physical RB at 1,000 yards, a big, WR close to a 1,000 yards. A offense that scored around 40 points a game and a defense that was use to pushing people around. No reason for them not to come in cocky. Thing is if your going to chirp and chip here and there you better be ready, theirs teams out there that will not back down. Silsbee just came out of the locker room on a different level, from the start you could tell it. From the first play of the game you could see it. We scored on the second play of the game and when our defense held Wharton to a three and out, I knew it was over, you could just see it that night. Silsbee needs to come out like that every game. Now the Area game is over, on to the Regional round and Giddings. Giddings going to be better and experienced. TigersNation!!!
