After reading that article, looks like this is the end for Newton. Been there, heard that...

Newton should blast this team. But I always look forward to them playing a good passing team. Unfortunately for Troup, the quarterback will not be very comfortable for very long. I'm thinking midway through 2nd quarter he may have taken all the pounding he will be able to handle. By stats, he's 5"10 145. He isn't built for it. Maybe they will surprise me.  Not likely.  But Newton could use a challenge.  Probably won't happen this week though. Newton hangs 50 and still plays a lot of freshman and sophomeres, before the half.

I believe WOS is much better than their record indicates. Being from Newton, that kinda makes me a Jasper fan as well, by default.  But, I think WOS has to many athletes and particularly speed for Jasper, and I see WOS pulling of the perceived upset this weekend.

Newton (if we win) plays the winner of C.Camden and Daingerfield.  If  C Camden wins we will play in Woodville. If Daingerfield wind we will play in Lufkin.
