The Newton Eagles look to take one more step toward defending their Class 3A, Division II title as they take on the Troup Tigers in this Class 3A, Division II, Region III semifinal tonight!  W.T. Johnston's Eagles, 11-0 on the season, reached this round with a 69-0 bi-district win over Omaha Paul Pewitt followed by a 59-5 area round win over Grand Saline.  Meanwhile, the Tigers, 10-2 on the season, reached this round with a 50-16 bi-district win over Chisum and a 47-41 area round win over Waskom.

The winner of this game will face the winner of the Corrigan-Camden/Daingerfield regional semifinal with kicks off at 7:30 in Henderson.
