Russ Sutherland's Buccaneers, 11-1 on the season, reached this round with a 82-54 bi-district win over Crockett followed by a 55-35 area round win over West. Meanwhile, the Yoemen, 11-1 on the season and District 10-3A-I champions reached this round with a 49-28 bi-district win over Whitney, followed by a 59-34 win over Diboll.
