Speed on speed tonight.  Jasper had trouble getting the corner the entire game.

WOS did a good job clogging the runs between the tackles too. The Mustangs coaching staff has done a whale of a job with their kids. I got the impression early in the season that the normal fire was missing from that group and they had it in spades tonight. That's not meant to take anything away from the Jasper staff and players. We were right there and just couldn't get it done...

Likewise impressed with the Bulldog D.  Other than some big plays, a whole lot of hitting and run stopping tonight.  If you love old school football, tonight was a classic.

Jasper missing a couple of backs had something to do with that.

No doubt that was a huge hurdle they couldn’t clear.   By the same token, no one has had a night on a CT defense like Jasper had early this season and we won’t likely see one again anytime soon, certainly not this season the way he has them playing now.

But the ones on the field played in a game I have a feeling will be talked about for many years to come.  Had that kind of feel to it.

I was on pens and needles all night until the clock read 0:00.Both teams played their hearts out.Our QB made some bad decisions throwing the ball. The momentum kept swinging back and forth. Both teams turned the ball over numerous times but Jasper turned it over on their 13 yard line which turned out to seal the deal for WOS.I thought Jasper should have gone to the pass sooner because we were stopping their run game and they were moving the ball better when they passed. This was one heck of a game determined by one fumble at the wrong place at the wrong time. Thanks for a great game Jasper.

Absolutely true.  Can't cry about it now, but the good news is that both Hunt and Limbrick will be back next year.  Limbrick is only a Sophomore and already has had flashes of the same lightning that Hunt has.  Either would have been a great help tonight.

Great game between these two teams. Too bad they had to meet so soon in the playoffs.

Seriously guys are we gonna go here again? Y’all know good and well why they aren’t playing y’all and it has nothing to do with fear of losing. Smh, just enjoy the bragging rights of being on round 4

Buddy I heard Jasper tanked the game to avoid silsbee

Why would they do that? Jasper not afraid to play Silsbee. Last years lost was only due to the cheap shot Sells put on Jasper's QB(sells) to knock him out the game. It would have been a good game.

It was a inside joke. Lumberton/ others were saying they lost on purpose to LCM to avoid Carthage in the playoffs.

    • I too, wish #15 was healthy and playing.  And also another RB (can't recall the #), who went down in the first game of the season. But, some others have stepped up and are hard runners.  I'm really looking forward to watching this game.
    • Still, from what little I saw, it should have been a much closer game.  WOS was missing some fundamentals on defense, and a lack of imaginative play calling on offense.  Just my opinion as an objective observer on Texan Live, which was horrible btw, but that's another story.
    • Either way,one game lead in the series. I rely to much on word of mouth
    • West Orange Stark has been a powerhouse since I csn remember. At some point, your bound to fall off to some degree. Alabama has 3 or 4 loses this season. Who would have thought? Has Orange lost kids to LCM or even Orangefield?
    • Interesting matchup this Friday. Both teams have very good offensive and defensive lines, which will make this game interesting. Having watched Texas High all season, they have a wide open offense with very good skill players. If you look at their stats they run the ball 57% of the time and pass 43% of the time. Personally, that is a bit deceiving, as most of their games have seen reserves running the ball in the 4th quarter. I would estimate the primary offense is 50/50. Through 12 games they have run for 3,224 yds (48tds) and passed for 2,894 yds (32 yds). Potter, the Tiger QB, has been very efficient with a 69% completion rate and 1 interception (which came from a tipped pass). The passing is distributed primarily to 4 receivers…. Ball (865), Wrightner (811), Montgomery (532), & Pilgreen (392). The rushing comes from 3 running backs … Johnson (1,432), Ball (768) & Moore (716).  The Tiger defense is solid and very quick.    Hope #15 is healthy enough to play. He is a test for any defense. I was concerned about the Nederland RB, but felt Texas High did a good job containing him. I wish this game was in the afternoon, as Nachitoches is having their Festival of Lights and their will not be any rooms in the inns and restaurants will be full so plan accordingly. PNG are state champions until someone knocks them off, so I extend the Indians the respect they deserve. Pulling for the Tigers.
