Then why is Oklahoma playing in the playoff and Georgia is NOT??

Simple math brother, 2 is larger than 1. 2 loss Georgia vs 2 Loss Oklahoma.....Most years, GA is gonna get the nod. Obviously, it depends on who beat them, but I think most would agree (especially the folks who make the decisions) that if you take the last 15 years of college football as a WHOLE, the SEC would get that nod 75-80% of the time over ANY other conference. You may not like it, you may think it's unfair, hell even I think it may be a bit unfair, but you simply cannot argue with HISTORY and the facts that support a decisive advantage of playing in the SEC. Problem is, as most in SEC teams will attest to, it's a nightmare to even get to the point where you can get the "benefit of the doubt" from the committee (As someone said in earlier post, teams are kept at "arms length")You can argue "conspiracy" all you want or "SEC bias" or ESPN is in "bed with the SEC", but until another conference wins almost 70% of the national championships in a 15 year period, it is not going to change.

To change that dynamic in our current system, a conference like the big 10 or big 12 is going to have to reel off 3 or 4 of the next 5 or 6 championships, much like the SEC did from 2006 to 2012 when 3 different teams won NC's from the SEC for 7 years straight. The SEC is STILL benefiting from that run of dominance and as long as Bama keeps carrying that torch, it's not likely to change.

Over the last 10 years, there is only 1 possibly 2 teams to get that "advantage".

So again, how as Aggie benefited, other than through the socialist revenue system? How have they been given the "benefit of the doubt", in terms of on the field advantages? Or really any other teams than the two at the top?

If it were not for Alabama, the SEC would be just like every other conference. So the SEC can ride the Bama wave as long as they can. It is like a tell Mack, your brother being a bad arse does not make you one. Many of the schools in the SEC are the midget walking around with their chest out because they know big brother can whip anybody who messes with them.

OOPS ! My bad ! Forgot about Georgia losing 2. And I completely understand why the SEC would get the nod. They have earned that right for sure. Hopefully Texas and the Big XII will become relevant at the national level again very soon ! Oklahoma SUCKS !

Hypothetically:

Say next year the following go undefeated, Who gets in CFP?

USC (PAC 12)

UT (Big 12)

OSU (B1G)

Alabama (SEC)

Clemson (ACC)

Notre Dame (Indy)

and I am aware USC and ND play each other each year hence the “hypothetical”.

A lot depends on how the playoff goes this year.  If ND gets blown out again, they won’t fool the committee again.

I would say

Texas/OU are interchangeable, tOSU, Bama, and Clemson would be the 4

The PAC was garbage this year.

But what if, hypothetically speaking, the PAC is awesome next year? Or if Notre Dame hypothetically kicks Clemson's ass? Maybe Urban doesn't leave OSU after his hypothetical heart attack? I mean, hypothetically speaking, Ehlinger could have a Heisman year and we could be there. What would happen if bammers plane hypothetically crashed?

Hypothetically, I think I've covered all our bases?

Georgia is the better team and probably the only team in the country that could beat bama. But Oklahoma gets in because of Heisman trophy winner kyler murry. Too bad he couldn't stay at a&m

I think Bama, USC, ND & OSU.

USC because they want to draw in the West Coast viewers.

ND because they’re ND.

Bama because they’re probably the only team in that scenario that is 100% deserving (SEC).

Either OSU or Texas because of Money. OSU (East coast media bias).

No way an Undefeated Texas Team next year is left out of the college football playoff..Brand is to big and the alumni/fan base is probably the biggest in the county. Plus If they get in next year it means they won the Big 12 (beat OU 2x) and beat LSU

Bama, USC, Clemson and Texas..Now you have each part of the country in the playoff, which will appeal to more people in diff parts of the country

It would be tough leaving out an Undefeated Ohio State cause that means they beat Michigan and Penn State but I don’t see how you can replace them with any of those other teams , but if it did it would be USC since the PAC 12 is so down

ND almost got left off this year after an undefeated season so is not that hard to see.

Yeah ND is not the ND of the 20th century.  Hard for my kids to comprehend how big that brand was when we were growing up, heck even when my dad was growing up.

Y’all are giving the PAC too much credit for their fan bases.  They can barely get people to go to their games, much less watch.  It’s nothing compared to the South and even the Big 10, where it would be on every TV.

ND fans are everywhere.  If they get blown out again, the Committee will lose faith.
