KFDM COOP Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 high island 12 sabine pass 4 finalHigh Island clinched a playoff birth fpr the first time in 8 years
bobby Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 i think it is pretty sad whenever their is a play at home and the home plate umpire has to ask the 2nd base umpire if he is out or safe sabine pass got cheated big time
BUCman Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 With the score being 12-4 it sounds like the umpires really didn't play that big of a roll. That's just my opinion. Come to thing about it ya'll were complaing about the last time High Island beat ya'll. Congrats to the Cards.
mustang Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 So that one call resulted in getting drummed 12-4?
mustang Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Sounds like sour grapes. A pattern is developing here. Everytime Sabine Pass loses its the old "we were cheated" line. Every team in the state has gotten bad calls made against them this year. You have to deal with it and go on. Umpires are human just like everyone else. None of them set out to make a bad call. And, many of those "bad" calls are actually right and many of them are judgement calls that opposing sides will never agree on. Stop whining about umpire calls and hit the ball when on offense and field a ball when on defense!
peter45 Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 yes this umpire did set out to make bad calls against s.p. Before the first inning a sabine pass player over heard the home plate umpire whispering to the high island catcher how he was going to call strikes in the dirt and in the other batters box, he also made negative comments about the coach. And he did throughout the entire game. After every inning the umpire would go to the high island dugout until the next inning started. It was a two run game and the umpire made a remark to sabines catcher saying "Ya'll aint coming back anyway."
