Uncle Pig Posted December 19, 2018 Report Posted December 19, 2018 La Porte just posted for their head football job. Either it’s a misprint or something that’s probably never been done at the 6A level, but one of the job requirements is teaching 2 classes...a 6A head football coach being asked to teach 2 classes!! Unbelievable! Quote

oldschool2 Posted December 19, 2018 Report Posted December 19, 2018 Posting a 6A football job where the HFC has to teach 2 classes is guaranteed to .. well .. just exactly how good of a coach (experienced winner) are they expecting to get? I'm sure coaches from all over the state will be lined up to run a 6A football program and a grade book all at the same time.. (eyes rolled) Come on LaPorte.. try not to SeTx so hard. The Icon Posted December 20, 2018 Report Posted December 20, 2018 Who’d apply to be a 6A Head Football Coach and all that goes with it while only making $10,000 over base pay and teaching 2 classes? I would assume that the coach will be one of the lowest paid 6A Head Football Coaches, while being the only one teaching in the Greater Houston Area. My two cents Quote

Blockdownandkickout! Posted December 20, 2018 Report Posted December 20, 2018 Crazy to see that at the 6A level. I understand a small 2A or something having to do that, but not 6A Houston area. Quote

RidinTheRange Posted December 20, 2018 Report Posted December 20, 2018 Or the Superintendent, or whoever is doing the hiring, already has his person in mind and is trying to lessen the applicant pool to justify the hire in the end. I've seen that stunt pulled off before! Quote

I've seen that stunt pulled off before! I was thinking that as well..but it wouldn't make sense to let someone on LaRue's staff to take over. 6A programs that aren't "successful" usually bring in from outside the box. If someone comes from out of the school they don't want any of the current staff. I wouldn't think anyway.. This whole things seems kind of crazy to me. Quote

PlayActionPass Posted December 20, 2018 Report Posted December 20, 2018 Worst 6A job posting EVER. But, it is a perfect posting if you already know who you want to hire and you are trying to keep quality applicants away. Whole lot easier to justify a questionable hire if the competition is slim and none. BlackShirts5 1 Quote
