Clayton Ehlert gets start tonight against SFA.

This is a tremendous tribute to Clayton, he is redshirted and probably not happy about it because he had to battle injuries in the fall. He just continues working his butt off and pitches in the Wednesday intersquad games and it got to were he was shutting his own team down.

Coach needs help, approaches Clayton about pulling off the redshirt with only about a quarter of the season left and Clayton and his family jumped at the chance.

For all you players that think you work hard and don't get a fair opportunity, this is how you create your own opportunity.

I stand and applaud Clayton Ehlert....great job kid.

In his first start, freshman Clayton Ehlert (LCM) threw five-scoreless innings Wednesday night to lead No. 16 Texas A&M past Stephen F. Austin, 6-0, at Olsen Field. Ehlert (1-0) earned his first collegiate win and allowed just three hits, fanned three, and did not walk a batter. Just one SFA runner made it to second base in the first five innings of the game. Aggie relievers Matt Ueckert, Kiel Renfro, and Gary Campfield combined to toss four scoreless innings and allow just one hit. It was the second shutout of the year for the A&M pitching staff. Offensively Brandon Hicks went 4-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored
