Ags complete the sweep of the Shriners Classic today with a win over Ranger’s favorite Cougar High.

Their pitching was outstanding again only allowing 4 runs in 3 games.

The offense is still awful scoring only 9 runs in those 3 wins

Always good to see Ol TW suck down a few losses.

Any word on the injury to the aggie pitcher? Looked like it could be bad.

It will probably be a few days after he meets a specialist. Just from the looks of it, I would think Tommy John.

Bats get going that’s a really scary team.

Great early season sweep of LSU! Big time youngsters on offense and big time young arms out of the pen (Fields, Quintanilla, and Madden). Cobb will continue to get better as the #3 starter I believe. I am pumped and ready to get up to Austin to catch the Saturday and Sunday games of the Xavier series and then the Tuesday contest with A&M. It'll be my wife and daughter's first trip to the Disch!

Won't be singing that tune come March 19,  and 11 SEC teams in the top 25 right now.

Gotta play the games before we know whether the tune will be sung or not. Sweeping the #1 team in the land is a reason for confidence, and I do believe with UT being so young they will continue to improve although I also believe there will be bumps in the road with the difficulty of the schedule leading up to conference play.

Oh I know I was actually pulling for the horns in that series but to say the Sec is overrated in baseball is silly.

Actually, it's not silly. How many of those 11 teams have played a legitimate team?

LSU did. They got exposed.

Rankings at this juncture are moot.

Exactly but year in and year out from top to bottom Sec finishes strong and I don't think Lsu got exposed because Texas has a good team, looking forward to them and the Razorbacks match up In a couple of weeks.

#12 Texas with another tough series this weekend at #6 Stanford.  They definitely will play to toughest non conference schedule in the country this season.  2 wins this weekend would be huge

#20 Texas A&M stays home to face Gonzaga. A&M is 13-2 on the year with all 15 games being started by left handers on the mound.  The left handed arms for A&M are ridiculous this season.

Texas brought back to earth losing 3 of 4 to the Cardinal.

A&M’s arms are nasty.

Conference play starts this weekend

#1 Vandy at #19 A&M

#11 Texas Tech at #12 Texas

Tough matchups for both teams.

Both teams with big series wins this weekend.

A&M dropped the 1st game then trailed the 2nd 7-2 after 7.  They scored 5 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th for the walkoff win. Christian Roa dominated Vandy in game 3 for a convincing 7-0 win to take the series.

Pitching supposedly wins championships.  With the Aggie bats waking up this weekend (and against quality pitching to boot), they have the potential to make a serious run.  Not sure what took so long for them to break into the polls but they have to be a top 10 team at this point.

Both teams will be battle tested as there aren’t many easy weekends in those two conferences.

I don't know how UT won 2 of 3 this weekend. The pitching was not very good. Too many walks! It was a good series win despite the pitching and not much hitting.

They gave up 3 runs in all 3 games, so the pitching wasn’t too terrible.  You will win a lot of games only giving up 3 runs.  Texas is scrappy.  They will be in a lot of close, low scoring games.
