This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up soar 77-34 over Hamshire-Fannett. H-J is now 27-9 overall and 10-2 in district. We got to have some fun and make some memories. Playoff time now!!!!
JimThorpe
A little tribute to the Longhorns. Hamshire Fannett is playing a good deal better now than at the start of district play. First time out we beat them by 93 with a running clock in the 4th. Last week the spread was 67 with the Longhorns scoring 57. And they were 57 honest points. They only trailed by 10 at the end of the first quarter. HF was scoring often enough that there wasn't really a need to run the clock. HJ beat them by 64 first time out and here the spread was 43. There are subs in the closing minutes of course, but still, it's improvement. Winning state championships like HJ and Silsbee have done is heady stuff. But the really real thing is to be better than your previous best. I think that Longhorns have achieved that.
whsalum
I didn't see that in this one. I can remember when HF was competitive. The score at the end of the first quarter was 30-2. They have a lot of kids on their teams and the Freshman group looks pretty decent. I hope they do get their program turned around. They did start a pretty young group so that should help. whsalum
HJ subbed 5 in 5 out at the 4 minute mark each quarter. It looked like it could have been whatever they wanted it to be.
