If that were the case then the leader in NCAA homeruns each year would play division III baseball. Very Big Correlation. Big difference in quality of pitching and size of the fields they face. Quote

And yes there is a difference It's difficult to find stats for high school sports so that's why I mentioned the College level. I had found on MaxPreps (I know it's not the best but it's as credible and good as it's gonna get for high school stats) the leader in the state of Texas has 11 homeruns for the spring of 2019 and he is enrolled at Colleyville Heritage which is 5A....the kid in 2nd has 10 and is enrolled at Lake Travis, both of which are larger schools and have more HRs than anyone mentioned on our SETX website. For old man. To address the field size, bigger schools don't have bigger fields...that's gotta be the silliest thing I've ever heard. You make it seem as if the smaller schools play on TBall fields that are 100ft shorter than your average high school field. Quote
WOSdrummer99 Posted April 9, 2019 Report Posted April 9, 2019 The father of a BC player, suggested it is the quality of pitching at the smaller schools that allows for so many home runs by 1 team. Quote
Critter Posted April 9, 2019 Author Report Posted April 9, 2019 If we are talking about Big Sandy lets remember these stats from this year in the Homerun discussion... They've hit 2 against Nederland, 2 against HJ, 1 vs. BC, and 1 vs. Blanco. Now for me I feel that these are some of the top schools in our area with some much better than average pitching. Just my two cents. Thanks, Critter (Craig Isaacs) AllSportsMom and CoachAshen 2 Quote

Football 101 Posted April 10, 2019 Report Posted April 10, 2019 I think these comments are comical about small school players hitting homeruns only because some of you think , the fields are smaller seriously? Lol and because of the quality of pitching! It’s not always easy slowing down fast hands to hit slow pitching! And your obviously not familiar with the players hitting all these homeruns! Cause they could come to your big schools and compete very easily! They have actually hit homeruns off of bigger schools and play with that type of competition in the summer . Critter 1 Quote

WOSgrad Posted April 12, 2019 Report Posted April 12, 2019 Folks, I don't mean to speak for Critter and I am sure he will correct if I am wrong, but I believe that he meant this thread to be for informational purposes only. While I welcome the debate that has been occurring and is a reasonable topic for discussion, it may be better placed in a thread of its own. Critter and OverTheBack 2 Quote
Critter Posted April 12, 2019 Author Report Posted April 12, 2019 Thank you WOSgrad and I would greatly appreciate it you guys/gals. I actually was going to ask this here in a few minutes after a meeting. I've been doing the Home-run thread for about 6 years now and love giving all the kids on this list some props for these accomplishments. Maybe, we can start a thread about field dimensions and school sizes. once again, I would appreciate keeping this thread going with HR's for our young men. Thanks, Critter (Craig Isaacs) OverTheBack 1 Quote
