Silsbee's 15 year run to regionals

Since Silsbee dropped a classification in 2005, the Tigers have now made the Region III tournament 11 times out of those 15 years. They have made the regional final 9 times in the past 14 years, winning the region 5 times out of those 9 regional final appearances. A win Friday night will make 10 regional final appearances in 15 years for Silsbee. Here is the list of the past 15 years:

I will do some more research but I'm pretty positive no area coverage school has this kind of record in the last 15 years.

Kountze has made regional tourney 9 of the last 15 years, making regional final in 7 of those trips, winning 4 regional titles. The Lions seem to be the closest to Silsbee in this 15 year span.

Hardin-Jefferson has 6 regional tourney appearances with 4 regional finals, 2 regional championships in these 15 years.

Since Silsbee and Hardin Jefferson are there so often and usually with decent crowds it might save overall driving miles to hold the Region III 4A tournament at Lamar.

At one point in time Lamar University and the local officiating chapter was trying to get a regional tourney here. 5A or 4A was the target classification.

Since that time (about 12 years ago), Lamar has shown no interest in being a host site.

I guess you could call Silsbee a dynasty like the Patriots.  Except Coach Sig is a much better dresser than Belichick.
