swampdude Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 Fall of '77 was the first season for West Orange Stark. Prior to that you had the West Orange Chiefs and the Stark High Tigers.
GoDogs27 Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 I was live at that game PN-G was in no matter what. The win sent PN-G, Nederland and Central to the playoffs. If the Indians lost it would've been PN-G, Ozen and WO-Stark.Haha you think you guys had it rough?? That was my senior year. After we beat Vidor that night, they played the PNG/Ozen game on our speaker system, so all the fans and players and coaches were down on the field, you couldve heard a pindrop and I was about to go choke that announcer cause he kept switching back and forth... Finally he said the officials called the game and I threw my helmet about 40 feet in the air... it was the longest fifteen minutes of my life....
WOS87 Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 My favorite was the old 22-5A in the early 80's. In the ten year period of 1977-1986 FIVE of these teams played in a state championship gameBC-PFrenchNederlandPNGTJWest BrookWO-SVidor

BMTSoulja1 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Wish my Jags was in the old 22-5a back in the mid 1900's. That district had Both the Baytown school, North Shore, and Deer Park in it.
BMTSoulja1 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Have Ozen ever been a 5A school No, always 4a.
TradinUp BH Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 When I played at WB in the early 90's it was West Brook Central Vidor TJ Baytown Lee Baytown Sterling Deer Park LaPorte I thought it was a tough district even though we swept right through it ;D
SETXsports Broadcaster Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 Now this was a Zone not a district there were 14 teams in this district: 10-3a East zone Jasper LCM Bridge City Stark (orange) Silsbee West Orange Beaumont South Park West Zone Liberty Hardin-Jefferson Port Arthur SFA Livingston Crosby Cleveland Woodville The winner of this zone played the winner of the west zone to see who won district. I think this was in 75 or 76 when I played

I think this was in 76 or 77 when I played I never knew LCM been a 3A school If you look at the years, that was before they moved everyone up a class and did away with the class B. Class 3A was the old 4A.
rapayne Posted June 28, 2008 Report Posted June 28, 2008 I'm going mid-ninties on this one. 19-4A (This was the good ol days, yeah we were losing in Big D, but it was good times!) Dayton Cleveland Silsbee Jasper Livingtson New Caney
bh146 Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 As a Bridge City grad, this was our district; 11-AAA in 1970. Bridge City West Orange Little Cypress-Mauriceville Stephen F. Austin Silsbee Jasper Liberty Cleveland Livingston BC was 4-4 in district scoring 49, 44, 47 and 48 in the wins but only a total of 30 in the losses. There were some tough Tuesday night basketball road trips in this district and I never did learn to sleep on those yellow dogs.
Tiger90 Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 I'm going mid-ninties on this one. 19-4A (This was the good ol days, yeah we were losing in Big D, but it was good times!) Dayton Cleveland Silsbee Jasper Livingtson New Caney I felt bad for Jasper. That must have been a long drive to New Caney.
rapayne Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 I can tell you losing in anything in Jasper and riding that bus back to Dayton was painful! I'm going mid-ninties on this one. 19-4A (This was the good ol days, yeah we were losing in Big D, but it was good times!) Dayton Cleveland Silsbee Jasper Livingtson New Caney I felt bad for Jasper. That must have been a long drive to New Caney.
