Guest BobcatBeliever Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 OK.....I'm not going to say any of them are the ABSOLUTE best, but I'm going to have to say Gerald Landry, of Westbrook was one of them.... learn how to spell QUARTERBACK BigRed!!!!!
bigred75 Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Hey jackleg.............if you would have joined in the conversation ten years ago then you might know what that post was about...........now go back to sleep................Also where is that pick coming from the early 80's I think.......................Geez.
Guest BobcatBeliever Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 OH hush Bird, you were still sucking a bottle in the 80s.....the kid was awesome....go do your homework
bigred75 Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 :tired Did I hear someone talking??? I thought I did but then I noticed it was someone from OF with a opinion about football..............do they play that over there, or is that strictly a girls basketball school, with a little golf thrown in...........................
Guest BobcatBeliever Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Keep singing BigBird.......Dishon will be gone after next year.....THEN WHAT?????
bigred75 Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Yada Yada Yada.............hey log back on when you have better material.............I am in need of some entertaining and your just not cutting the mustard.................
WOS92 Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 Actually, since Beasley only played one season at QB, you can't really compare track records. If you do, you can say that Jasper lost two games during Mitchell's senior year, while WO-S only lost the semifinal game during Beasley's.
Guest Penny Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Here's my list: Todd Dodge James Brown Chip Ambres Craig Stump Jerald Landry In the game I saw Beasley play, he didn't throw well at all... he ran well, but couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. May have been a bad game, but for me keeps him out of discussions of elite all time area QB's. All-time best players... he's right up there with the best of em, the kid had a burst like I've never seen.
KFDM COOP Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Yea because after that game his throwing was better than even the Coaches thought it would be.
WOS92 Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 The Nederland game wasn't a great one for Beasley as far as passing went (I'm assuming it was the ned game), but he did go 11-18-1 for 135 and 2 TDs, which isn't terrible.
bigred75 Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Yeah I tend to agree. I think the weakness of Beasley would be his passing. Running..................outstanding. He can flat out haul it. He has a knack for making people miss.
stang4life Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Beasley just has a "knack" for playing the game! Actually, for being an athlete. As for his passing, I don't think it is fair to base a player's talent or lack of talent on one game. He could pass the ball, but it just so happens that his running game was awesome.
bigred75 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 well if you want to take a look at GREAT quarterbacks you think of the ones that can pass........look at the NFL..........Vick----does nothing..........running only gets you so far..........now beasley is still a good QB but his weakness whether you want to admit it is his passing.......
Bobcatfan4life Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Luke Wollford and Jamie Knight of BC were some good ones.
Bigdog Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Sullivan from Ned. He can do both run and pass.
Guest GoStangs Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 now beasley is still a good QB but his weakness whether you want to admit it is his passing....... He was a tremendous runner, but also a very effective passer. He was the total package.
kerusso Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Donald Douglas from Liberty deserves some mention. Chavis McCollister from Teneha was the best to watch for me, but Teneha is a bit out of the area.
stang4life Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 Actually, I never said that Deon did not have a weakness. Doesn't everyone? And, I think that most would agree that his weakness would have to be his passing, but I only made the comment because it was mentioned that basically he wasn't a good passer. Thanks!!!
WOS92 Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 Well, if you had to target a weakness between the running and passing, then I suppose the passing was somewhat weaker. I'd still say he was even the best passer in our area this year.
swampdude Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Best I ever saw in person was some guy named Vincent Young from Houston Madison. They played Katy High 4 years ago in the Dome and they produced together nearly 1000 yards of offense. Final score was something like 51-48. Great game!
WOS92 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 I was at a Madison game in the Dome too. I think it was against Yates or someone, though, not Katy. It was immediately before a WO-S game and we got there early. It was also very high scoring both ways. Fun game to watch!
