Who is the overall best in these categories?

Offense

Defense

Pitching

Coaching

I give Jasper a fair advantage in defense and BC a slight advantage in pitching and offense.  I would say coaching is pretty equal both are excellent coaches.

Offense - BC because so many other guys other than Dishon are hitting the ball so well

Defense - BC's defense was maybe the biggest reason why Carthage is planning summer vacations

Pitching - My boys Meeks, Stringer, Hicks and Clark would kill me if I took Jasper

Coaching - 2 straight Austin trips, 3rd straight regional final

Impossibe to say until they get on the field.  Obviously, judging from the recent record, BC has improved tremendously, but so has Jasper.  That comes naturally from playing more games against tough opponents.

I predict, ........  there will be a small war in SE Texas this week.  ;D

they have nvr won state but went to the state tourny in 85 i believe and a few times before that

Another interesting fact:  Jasper beat Bridge City in the Regional Final 2 out of 3 in 1985 to advance to state. :-\  The Bulldogs lost to either DeSoto or New Braunfels Canyon in the semi-final game at the state tournament.

I believe it was New Braunfels Canyon who ousted Jasper.

Jasper went to the state tournament in 1961, 1963, 1978 (or perhaps 1977), and 1985 best I can remember.  Also made it to the regional finals in 1962, 1964, and 2004 against La Grange I think it was.  So the Dogs do have a bit of playoff history of their own.

The last 2 years have been a disappointment in the playoffs, but before that Jasper seem to get knocked out by a powerhouse every year.  According to UIL site:
