So there may not be a catastrophic amount of deaths, but a heckuva bunch of sick people.

Hopefully so. So far, the dead are the young and old, which is usually the case with flu.

Most viruses originate in SE Asia. Gee, I wonder why? Could it be due to the cramping of so many people with their livestock and poultry? Heck yes.

From the article

As of Sunday, the number of confirmed cases on China's mainland surpass 14,000.

The first person outside of China has died from coronavirus as the death toll surpasses 300.

Knowing China’s Rep for avoiding anything that reflects badly, I’d bet it’s closer to a thousand.   But that’s just speculation on my part.

  • 2 weeks later...

What I have learned today is that most of the cases have been mild. The young, old, and sickly have been the recorded deaths, which sadly is expected.

What is alarming to me is that I could contract this virus today, infect everyone I come in contact with, and not show any symptoms for two weeks. Something that contagious and hidden is very difficult to isolate.

That is what scares me about it

Even though I don’t believe this coronavirus pandemic is the one to end humanity, if we ever have a quick spreader that is much more deadly like bubonic plague or ebola, it could happen. This virus is a fast spreader, and that’s a bit scary, but I’m not going to panic just yet. Third world countries are taking a hit because they are third world. Americans are a well vaccinated country and that will help us tremendously. It’s gonna be ok.

Then we get doom and gloom articles like this and it spreads panic ahead of the virus.

    • In a video released Monday, Raja Cholan, a top official at the U.S. National Library of Medicine under the NIH, admitted to an undercover OMG operative he doubts jab efficacy and hasn’t “gotten the latest COVID shots and I’m not going to.”  “I PROBABLY SHOULDN’T BE SAYING THIS OUT LOUD;” Chief Confesses COVID Health Initiatives Were "COMPLETELY MADE UP”. "I don’t even know if these vaccines stop you from getting COVID. They don’t.” Adds, "We're all going to learn [about vaccine safety] when it's too late," as Pfizer & Moderna "are just getting a bunch of money… Vaccines were accelerated through the approval.” ‘We fly under the radar of being scrutinized…I don't think I have too much to worry about.’ Trump victory “worse for the NIH.” “It would be better for a Democrat to be in office.” WOW!!!!
    • The same reason you worry about Trump more than anything else. Why do trolls like yourself start threads like your Soros hedge fund thread and you never come back to…..just bait. Newsom might make a run for president in 2028. People need to know about his policies. You don’t think that’s important?
    • I like Newton’s chances here. I’ve watched  videos of Daingerfield what few I could get. Their big Qb scares me a little he looks Ike a good athlete. I think for a change Newton has a little more speed than the Tigers. That Samuel kid for Newton can move., and it goes without saying about Porter. That Hunter kid ain’t bad either. They scared me to death with their pass defense against Edgewood until I saw the video. That Qb for Edgewood can put it on a dime. And, his receivers could catch it. I’m pumped; this is the most fun time of the year for me. Go Eagles.🦅 I have to add this though. I watched the State game between the tigers and Yoe in 2010. Those guys looked like grown men playing as opposed to kids now a days who look like boys.😂 that was a heck of a good game.
