Coach.Shu Posted April 2, 2019 Report Posted April 2, 2019 AUSTIN, Texas — The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Tuesday to hand down decisions for UIL rule violations. Former Duncanville High School coach Cathy Self-Morgan was found guilty of recruiting violations and issued a three-year suspension from coaching and a public reprimand. Self-Morgan will be expected to appear before the State Executive Committee before coaching again at a UIL member school. The Duncanville High School girls basketball program was issued two years probation. Bobcat1 1 Quote
Coach.Shu Posted April 2, 2019 Author Report Posted April 2, 2019 Yeah - I am trying to remember the last time the UIL suspended a coach for recruitment.. Quote
Alpha Wolf Posted April 2, 2019 Report Posted April 2, 2019 Happens all the time, I guess they just had the proof to prove it in this situation. Quote

$$Buckets$$ Posted April 3, 2019 Report Posted April 3, 2019 This was crazy! All started because a top player from Duncanville transferred to another school, and was denied eligibility by the UIL so the mother of the player blew the lid off the whole thing by throwing a "move-in" to Duncanville under the bus. Granted the "move-in" and the top player were AAU teammates, the "move-in" came up from San Antonio when her mother got a job with the school district lol. So the mother of the top player for Duncanville was not happy when UIL denied the player eligibility when she transferred so she told on everybody lol. Coach.Shu and Alpha Wolf 2 Quote
$$Buckets$$ Posted April 3, 2019 Report Posted April 3, 2019 Sad but true that this goes on more than we would ever know. I even know of coaches texting parents of players with no shame trying to get them to come to their various schools smh. It also brings to light those certain AAU coaches who because they have had a string of top talent come thru their organization believe that they are NBA general managers and are bigger than the rules smh.
