Guest DickVitale Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Most exciting as a player.....in high school?....1. My sophomore year in the regional semis, we were down 15 to Houston Washington headed in to the 4th, due to them hitting 4 consecutive threes to end the quarter...We made the most unbelievable run in the 4th and outscored them 37-10, winning by 12...We started the quarter by countering their 4 3's in the 3rd with 5 of our own, unanswered! Our PG hit 2, I hit 2, and our POST man pulls up at the top of the key after being left open. We went on an 22-0 run, before they scored again! We got back to back alley oop dunks off of steals, and it just snowballed from there.. Hofheinz Pavilion (University of Houston) was as loud as I have ever heard it!! Great game and atmosphere. Had other great ones as a junior and senior, but that one was one for the ages!!As a coach:Other than winning state in 2001 as an assistant, I would have to say the state semi final game the next year (2002) vs. Fort Worth Dunbar...We won on a last second buzzer beater on a broken out of bounds play..They doubled our 1st option (Kendrick Perkins) and Javin Clover flies down the middle of the lane, receives the pass and lays it up with 2 seconds left!..great game, back and forth the entire way.
