-Central_Jaguars Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Cutting Room Floor: High School Coaches' Top 20 Polls Liberty Hill is No. 1 -- according to 3A coaches. Where will they rank in the magazine? 06/06/2007 Editor's note: The countdown is on for the release of the 2007 edition of Dave Campbell's Texas Football. To help the days wind down to June 11th a little bit faster, we're giving a sneak peak at content left out of the magazine. ----------------------------------------------- Ninety-nine percent of the questionnaires sent to every head high school football coach in Texas asks them about their team. Will your team be stronger or weaker? Who are your all-state candidates? What underclassmen will factor into the team's plans? However, for that left-over one percent, we ask the coaches about the competition, and what teams should rank in the Top 5 in their classification. Those Top 5 results will be published in the 2007 DCTF (along with the official DCTF Top 25 rankings), but left on the cutting room floor are the remaining teams earning votes. Below is the Top 20 vote-getters from the 2007 DCTF Coaches' Poll. PNG1992 Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 nice, we get the undesputed #1 team (Brenham) last season now #1 (LaMarque) again this year. gonna have to nut up boys.
PURPLE 4EVER Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Interesting that Central got some votes and Dayton didn't....And...For Crosby and Barbers Hill to get votes and not Dayton...Something is "fishy"....Dayton has so many returning, they cremated Crosby in Bi District and Barbers Hill lost so much talent...If Dayton can run the table and win their 1st 3 games, hopefully they will be in the top 20...
rapayne Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 While admired during the season and aimed for on countless school's schedules with great ferocity by many before the season, that does not mean Dayton is very well liked. The Broncos must perform on the field and there and only there will it matter. I totally see and feel how absurd this is, but that is cool, because it will make winning that much sweeter!Interesting that Central got some votes and Dayton didn't....And...For Crosby and Barbers Hill to get votes and not Dayton...Something is "fishy"....Dayton has so many returning, they cremated Crosby in Bi District and Barbers Hill lost so much talent...If Dayton can run the table and win their 1st 3 games, hopefully they will be in the top 20...
