Everett injures leg in outfield collision with Lee

Astros shortstop Adam Everett was carted off the field in the fourth inning of today's game against the Oakland A's at Minute Maid Park after suffering what appeared to be a serious injury to his lower right leg in a collision with left fielder Carlos Lee.

Everett was racing towards the outfield trying to track down a pop up off the bat of Oakland catcher Jason Kendall and collided with Lee, who outweighs Everett by 40 pounds. Everett's right leg appeared to get trapped underneath one of Lee's legs. The ball dropped to the ground, and Everett squirmed on the ground in pain before being carted off the field.

His injury is not yet known, but is being taken for X-rays.
